I sit slowly now,
Appearing somewhat calm
The raging torrents have given way
To babbling brooks with still banks
Worn smooth by time, talking low
Calm water caressing gently those who dare
If you look closely, gaze deeply
You will see the scars of violence
There among the dark rocky pools
Quiet, yet with a dark menace still
Time was not kind forging this shady place
Deep roots whisper of struggles all around
Here battles were won more than once
So we can slip away in tranquillity's embrace

IPart 2 in the series of 3 poems titled I’ll still love you when the drugs wear off in the morning inspired by the Miley Cyrus song Mr Percocet.
The first of three poems inspired by Miley Cyrus’ Mr Percocet and this memorable line.

A poem about suicide written as an antidote to toxic positivity, while conveying my genuine hope for the future being worth building.

Today is the day to kiss cares and worries away,
Today is the next day in the story of the rest of our lives,
We march triumphantly off to the unknown,
To die in glory in a land we do not know,
Against our brothers we have never met,
We murder our dreams and futures as we slaughter the friends we never made,
For a cause we blindly repeat and masters whose cruelty we obey,
For a land we will never steward and people we will never meet,
Such is glory when a war machine shuffles its feet.
